     Here, it is common to meet the winemaker—the winery’s actual owner—pouring his or her creation and talking grapes in the tasting room. This is a wine region where people have lived for generations, growing their grapes in a sustainable fashion so they may preserve the land for their children and their children’s children.
     Lodi is a place where both wine aficionados and those simply seeking a different kind of escape are welcome in equal proportion. There are museums to explore, elegant birds to spy on, the Mokelumne River to play in. Or you can just stroll around our charming historic shopping district. Lodi’s open-arms hospitality is genuine and its diversions remarkable.
     This guide will give you a taste of what’s in store for you in Lodi. But, as with the label on a fine wine, words and pictures reveal only so much. It’s much more fulfilling to actually experience it.
